I want to be as real and as raw as possible. I believe in things evolving naturally and learning who I am as organically as possible. My name is Kalei Marie. I created For My Girls simply because I wanted to talk about my truths, my struggles, flaws, while also highlighting the growth in this journey called life. What I've noticed about all of these .,things is that I'm not alone in this struggle, and neither are you.
At the age of 23, I am now noticing that a lot of my downfalls came from not speaking up about my struggles. From depression, anxiety, being a young mother, struggling with my faith, and sometimes just feeling lost in life, functioning in this already dysfunctional world that doesn't think twice about us has been the ultimate long haul.
I want this to be a space for all of us. Speaking on our experiences, helping us girls and young women to connect, relate, and release our emotions through laughter, tears, or maybe even a good Nene Leeks meme! This is for us. For Black girls, speaking our mind.
